WWE.com recently reported that Fandango suffered a concussion during his match with Zack Ryder at the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday, June 4th. Fandango was removed from all of the WWE Live Events this past weekend, and has also been removed from the Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match scheduled for Sunday’s Payback PPV.

As reported last week, the match was originally scheduled to be Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett facing The Miz and Fandango. The three men have been trading off blows, victories, humiliations, and losses over the last 2 months, and the match was one that WWE officials had been very excited about. Now that Fandango cannot compete in the match, Curtis Axel will be taking his spot and may just win the Intercontinental strap.
