Poor Finn Balor can’t catch a break. Despite becoming Universal Champion in his very first main roster pay-per-view match, he was injured in that same contest and forced to relinquish the title the very next night.

Now, he’s talking about another injury setback.

But don’t get too upset just yet–the estimated recovery time is only 48 hours, and shouldn’t interfere with rehab to get back in the ring.

The injury?

A knife incident that saw lacerations to the pollex resulting in external bleeding.

…Okay, yeah, Finn cut his thumb in a kitchen mishap.

It seems that Irish WWE stars just have the worst luck when it comes to the kitchen. Remember Becky Lynch’s epic struggle with a can opener last year? A truly sad state of affairs.

Finn is still expected to be back in ring shape by WrestleMania time, though his time out means that the card is quickly filling up without him. It seems the Universal Title will be tied up with the Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar feud, and rumors have most of Raw’s top superstars already locked into major matches. Maybe we’ll see Finn renew rivalries with Samoa Joe upon his return.

Please take advantage of the comments below or Facebook to send Finn your well-wishes after this very serious injury.
