This article contains a spoiler of a future “NXT” taping. If you do not wish to be spoiled, I would consider closing the article.

During the Oct. 8 television taping of “NXT,” Apollo Crews won a Battle Royal to become the new #1 contender for Finn Balor’s NXT Championship. The final four participants in the match were Crews, Samoa Joe, Baron Corbin and Tyler Breeze. According to those in attendance, Crews apparently got a huge pop after his victory.

No word has been released as to when Crews will face Balor for the NXT Championship, but rumors are now circulating that the match might possibly take place during the “NXT Takeover:London” event.

Since his NXT debut a few weeks ago, many current and legendary WWE Superstars have spoken highly of Crews. WWE COO Triple H continues to praise Crews in interviews and conference calls, noting that he has high hopes for him and believe he has what it takes to be a champion.

In addition, we recently reported that WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley took to his official Twitter page to talk about how he believes Crews has a big WWE future ahead of him.

Balor has been NXT Champion since he defeated Kevin Owens at “Beast in the East,” and their have been rumors that he might be making his way up to the main roster in the near future. If that is the case, maybe Crews will be the next NXT Champion.

Editor’s Note:

Unfortunately, I have not seen much of Apollo Crews recently, but if what everybody is saying about him is true, I can’t wait to get to see him in action. Balor is destined for the main roster, but I feel there are some people down in NXT who might need a championship feud more right now than Crews. It will be interesting to see how this angle plays out over the next couple of months.
