Paige Set to be Stripped of the NXT Women's Championship

A new report from PWInsider.com claims that WWE Divas and NXT Women’s Champion Paige is set to be stripped of the NXT Women’s Championship during the April 24 edition of NXT programming. According to reports, NXT General Manager JBL will remove the NXT Women’s Championship from Paige claiming that she cannot hold both titles at the same time.

The segment features Paige initially refusing to let go of the NXT Women’s title, but she will eventually relent. The report claims the segment was likely filmed on location during the April 21 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” and will be published on WWE.com and inserted into the NXT program on WWE Network as well.

During tonight’s NXT tapings, a new storyline will be recorded pitting new NXT divas against each other in a fight for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship. Paige won the WWE Divas Championship from AJ Lee on April 7, the same night that she made her main roster debut.

While it would look cool to see Paige donning both titles, the NXT one actually NEEDS to stay down there if Paige has been promoted to the main roster for good now. Glad they’re doing this quickly.
