According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and former WWE, WCW, and TNA superstar Konnan, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross could become a voice for Lucha Underground in the near future.

Ross recently provided commentary for Global Force Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “WrestleKingdom 9” PPV event, which was his return to the craft after being unceremoniously forced to “retire” from WWE in 2013.

While it was Ross’ first gig back behind an announce table for a wrestling event, Konnan revealed recently on his podcast that AAA is in negotiations with Ross to have him become a major part of their Lucha Underground promotion. While he says that he doesn’t know if Ross would be part of a three-man team with Matt Striker and Vampiro, they have talked about rotating each man onto two-man teams as well.

Editor’s Note:
Welp. It would be awesome to see JR back consistently for some company. I wish is was WWE, though. I always want that cowboy hat and Sooner voice on WWE programming. The team of Cole, Booker T/Jerry “The King” Lawler, and JBL is atrocious. SO hard to listen to for three hours every Monday night and PPV.
