Backstage News on Wade Barrett’s Repackaging and Return

As we previously report, the WWE is currently thinking of some new and creative way to bring former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett back onto WWE television. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that WWE officials are considering bringing him back to WWE TV with his “Bad News Barrett” gimmick that he has been using on The JBL & Cole Show.

The character of “Bad News Barrett” does exactly what it sounds like he does, he breaks bad news to other superstars, usually with a layer of sarcasm or humor attached to it. The WWE is even trying to get those that watch the show to trend the hashtag, #BadNewsBarrett, on social media.

There has been no report about when Barrett will return, but most likely he will be doing this shtick.
