New reports from PWInsider.com has provided backstage news on TNA releasing Gunner and Sam Shaw from their roster. As previously noted, both men have been let go from the promotion.

According to PWInsider, TNA Wrestling made the decision to release both men due to lack of creative plans. Neither superstar was let go due to poor behavior or performance, but were not re-signed due to TNA just not having any plans set for their characters.

While both men are now free to work in any promotion that they wish, TNA has left the door open for them to return to the company should they need or want them back. Financially, it didn’t make sense to the promotion to keep men on the roster that they weren’t using in current storylines while they’re basically only running television tapings.

TNA has ceased doing house shows, and are only taping “IMPACT WRESTLING” episodes. For those on the roster that have no current program running on TV, they’ll likely be released should the company not find something for them quickly.

Editor’s Note:

I mean. It makes sense. Let them go and save money. It also lets those two guys go and work Indy shows for probably more money than they’re making right now in TNA.
