Once again, the chairman of the board has shaken things up in WWE.

In one of the advertised segments for “Payback,” Vince McMahon was going to decide which of his children would end up running “Monday Night Raw.” Much to the surprise of Shane, Stephanie and the WWE Universe, the following announcement was made and was recapped on WWE.com:

Taking a page from the judgment of King Solomon, Mr. McMahon refused to award control of Raw to either of his children. Instead, he divided oversight equally among both Stephanie and Shane, telling them they could either “slit each other’s throat,” or, he said, “it could be a collaborative effort.”

What this means is that both Shane and Stephanie McMahon will be in joint control of “Raw” for the foreseeable future.

Editor’s Note:

Although the rumored brand split didn’t occur tonight, this announcement has the potential to create unique storylines going forward. When Vince made this decision, I was immediately taken back to when both Eric Bischoff and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin were in joined control of “Raw” back in the early 2000s. It provided us with some great television during that time, and I expect that this power struggle to do the same!
