Two Puerto Rican Wrestling Legends Return At Backlash 2023

Now that is cool. Tonight at WWE Backlash 2023, two Puerto Rican wrestling legends made their returns to the company.

Savio Vega made an appearance in a backstage segment with Bad Bunny and Rey Mysterio, as Bunny was preparing for his San Juan Street Fight with Damian Priest. Later in the show, during the match, Vega, along with Carlito, joined the LWO and helped them fight off the Judgement Day when they tried to interfere in the match.

Carlito was last seen on WWE programming in early 2021, when he was a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match that year. He would then team with Jeff Hardy on Raw the following night, defeating Elias and Jaxson Ryker in a tag team match.

Savio Vega was a prominent WWE superstar in the 1990s, last appearing with the company in late 1999.

This was freaking awesome. The pop that both superstars got for their returns, had me marking out like crazy at home. Not only did they deserve to be there, but the Puerto Rican fans brought some of the best energy I’ve ever seen at a wrestling show. This was a recipe for an incredible moment, and I’m glad we all got to see it!
