Nobody was exempt when Mr. McMahon said that he was shaking things up again. And this includes the commentators.

In a new video that was posted on WWE.com after “Monday Night Raw” went off of the air, it was revealed that Byron Saxton and David Otunga will be switching places for the foreseeable future. Saxton will now be one of the commentators on “Smackdown Live,” while Otunga will be moving to “Raw.”

Byron Saxton learns he is going to SmackDown LIVE: Raw Fallout, April 10, 2017

Even though Saxton appeared shocked in the video, “Smackdown Live” will be familiar territory for him. The “blue brand” is where he made his main roster announcing debut in December of 2015.

However, he would be drafted to “Raw” in the inaugural WWE Draft in July 2016, where he serves as one of the “face” commentators.

Otunga has been a full-time member of the “Smackdown Live” commentary team since the Draft.

Editor’s Note:

Honestly, I don’t think this will make one iota of difference. Many people feel that these two are the weakest parts of each of the commentary teams, so perhaps a new home will allow both of them to re-energize their characters, and have a better chemistry with their partners.
