You can see the interview in its entirety below:
The interview began with Khan stating how
On the origins of AEW:
“I’ve been a wrestling fan my whole life and sometimes when you’re in the moment, something strikes you. I was actually at a party in Beverly Hills with a good friend of mine and a mutual friend of ours, who was the president of TNT and TBS was at the same party and I saw him and sometimes you just get a lightbulb idea to talk to him about starting a wrestling company. That was April 2018 and a little over 3 years later, the show is the No. 1 show on Wednesday nights. With dynamite and AEW, it’s a lifelong goal for me personally, but really I never knew I was gonna do it until I got there and saw him and had the idea to talk to him.”
On AEW’s upcoming show in New York City:
“AEW Dynamite is coming to New York City for the first time ever and we wanted to bring the show to a very special venue. Wednesday, September 22, we’re going to make our debut in New York City at Arthur Ashe stadium, USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. AEW “Grand Slam” will be one of our biggest events ever.”
On hiring Urban Meyer as the new Jacksonville Jaguars’ head football coach:
“My father had gotten to know Urban and they had become friends and Urban really wanted this job; it was really important to him. When I got to know him I got to know what my dad saw. Urban has changed many lives in Jacksonville, he’s changed the culture of the Jaguars, he’s a great coach, a great leader, a great person, a great motivator, a great tactician and I’m so excited to be able to work with him. It was my dad’s call and it was a brilliant choice, I think.”
They also discuss the potential of the Jaguars playing in London, England, Trevor Lawrence’s hair and more.
