Title Change Takes Place On The 2019 Royal Rumble Kickoff Show

The United States of America may officially have a new name. Tonight on the 2019 Royal Rumble Kickoff Show, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Rusev to become the new United States Champion. This will be his second run with the title.

The finish came when Nakamura was about to take the padding off of one of the top turnbuckles in order to gain an unfair advantage. Lana noticed this and jumped up on the apron, which caught Nakamura’s eye and they begin to argue. When Rusev went after Nakamura, he accidentally bumped Lana and knocked her off of the apron.

This would allow Nakamura to hit Rusev in the back and pin him to win the title.

Editor’s Opinion:

I have mixed feelings about this. Obviously, I’m thrilled that my favorite superstar in WWE has a championship again. However, this means that he probably won’t be a force in the Royal Rumble match itself. Oh well. The United States of Nakamura is once again in full force!
