Shinsuke Nakamura was recently interviewed by the New York Postwhere he discussed the importance of his upcoming match at WrestleMania. Nakamura will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

Below are some highlights from the interview:

On this match being a “dream match:”

“It’s an amazing thing for WWE history I think,” Nakamura said in a phone interview of facing Styles for the WWE title in New Orleans on Sunday. “We crossed over, we crossed the border line in Japan and the States, different company and that’s why I say this is destiny.”

On the difficulty of transitioning to competing in WWE:

“We didn’t need to care about the time,” he said. “WWE time-wise is so strict.”

On the importance of both his match and Asuka’s match at WrestleMania:

“It’s probably the biggest thing for the Japanese wrestling history,” he said.

On Daniel Bryan and facing him in the future:

“So, I join the WWE and soon he needed to quit,” Nakamura said. “That was shock to me. Huge shock.”

“Next dream match for me,” he said.
