Shaq Challenges Cody Rhodes To A Match

The big man speaks. Last month, Brandi Rhodes had a sit-down conversation with NBA Legend and current TNT “Inside the NBA” analyst Shaquille O’Neal, better known as Shaq. The conversation started pleasantly but ended with Brandi Rhodes throwing a glass of water in the big man’s face.

Shaq would eventually respond to this by challenging Cody to a match on the AEW Awards show which aired before Dynamite:

Cody would respond to this during the show, in a promo with Arn Anderson. The initial tag match would have seen Cody and Brandi Rhodes take on the team of Shaq and Jade Cargill. However, due to Brandi’s pregnancy, she will be unable to compete.

This would lead Red Velvet to come out and say that she would be more than willing to take Brandi’s place:

The match hasn’t been made official yet, but it is expected that this tag match will take place at AEW’s upcoming Revolution pay-per-view, scheduled for March 7 of this year.

Editor’s Opinion:

I love Shaq, don’t get me wrong; he is always incredibly entertaining at everything that he does. But does anybody really want to see him get in the wrestling ring again? I have a feeling that this match will be a complete disaster, which is bad for everyone involved. The good news is that he would be working with Cody Rhodes who is a consummate professional, and may be able to get the best match possible out of him. They could also focus on Red Velvet vs. Jade Cargill, so we will see how this goes.
