Many people have been speculating who John Cena’s next opponent for the US Title would be. Based on the events of last night’s “Monday Night Raw”, we may have our answer.

On this morning’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that Cena will be defending his title against Dolph Ziggler later this month at “Hell In A Cell.” This seeds for this match may have been planted in closing segment of “Raw,” as Ziggler tried to help Cena as he was being beaten down by The New Day, but ended up tagging him with a superkick instead.

Part of this future storyline may also come from the season finale of “Total Divas,” which aired last week on the E! Network. Ziggler and Nikki Bella used to be a couple, and in the final scene of the episode, Ziggler admitted that he still had feelings for her, even though she is now Cena’s girlfriend. Ziggler then tried to kiss Bella, as the screen went to black with the words “To Be Continued.”

Ziggler has most recently been involved in a storyline with Rusev and Summer Rae, defeating Rusev at the “Night of Champions” pay-per-view. Cena recently defeated Seth Rollins to retain his US Championship at the WWE Live Event from Madison Square Garden that aired this past weekend on the WWE Network.

Editor’s Note:

I am all for this, as both men are incredible talents, but it leaves me with a lot of questions. Who will be the heel and the face? We all know that “Total Divas” is taped and probably finished filming a few months ago, so what sense would it make to bring this storyline to life now? Also, Dolph Ziggler and Lana have been rumored to be a couple, so how does Nikki Bella fit into all of this? It’s very confusing, but could make for great television as well.
