RUMOR: Zelina Vega Returning to WWE

This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. According to a report from Fightful Select, Zelina Vega was seen at the WWE Performance Center on Thursday of this week, filming some material for the company.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Vega was filmed walking into the Performance Center with Simone Johnson, the daughter of former WWE Champion, The Rock. There’s no word on if this was some sort of supplemental footage being filmed or if there’s a plan for Vega and Johnson.

According to a report from Wrestling Inc., Vega’s WWE return has been planned for a while, even before WrestleMania 37.

Vega was released from WWE on November 13, 2020. WWE had issued a new edict stating that they wanted to take over the rights to various performer’s third-party activity outside of the company, such as streaming on Twitch. She did not agree with these policies and tweeted out that she supports unionization; as a result, she was dismissed from the company.

She has not competed with another wrestling promotion since her release. Check out what she is capable of:

Editor’s Opinion:

This doesn’t surprise me at all and I hope that we see her back sooner rather than later. I was hoping that the two sides could come to some sort of agreement; it’s ridiculous that the superstars can’t make money outside of the company.  This is especially the case in the midst of a global pandemic, when royalties, merchandise sales, appearances, etc. have been drastically reduced.
