This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. According to a tweet from WrestleVotes, there has been a strong push from within the WWE creative team to  have this year’s men’s Money In The Bank winner coming out of the whole process looking like a star.

The feeling backstage is that for the past two years, the winners and cash-in attempts on the briefcase have failed miserably.

Check out what happened the last time a briefcase was cashed in:

It should be noted that Braun Strowman won the 2018 men’s match and cashed in on Roman Reigns, who was the Universal Champion at the time. However, the match ended in a No Contest due to interference from Brock Lesnar.

Baron Corbin won the briefcase back in 2017, but was defeated by WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.

Editor’s Opinion:

This makes a lot of sense. Part of the charm of the Money In The Bank briefcase is the sense that the fans get to see who WWE is grooming to be their next big star. That seems to have not happened over the past couple of years.
