It’s a summer tradition. Tonight at the 2021 edition of NXT Takeover: In Your House, the company announced the date for its next big special event. Last summer, NXT ran The Great American Bash for two nights, on July 1 and 8, 2020, and this year, the company is doing it again.

The 2021 edition of the Great American Bash will take place on Tuesday, July 6, during the company’s regularly scheduled NXT program. No matches have been announced for the show as of now.

Check out what the company did last year, as well as the announcement of the show:

Adam Cole vs. Keith Lee – Winner Take All Championship Match: NXT Great American Bash, July 8, 2020

NXT Women’s Champion Shirai vs. Banks – Non-Title Match: NXT Great American Bash, July 1, 2020

NXT Great American Bash returns Tuesday, July 6

Editor’s Opinion:

I love the concept of NXT taking special events from WCW’s past and utilizing them as special events in the present. The company has done that with Halloween Havoc, Starrcade and now the Great American Bash and it brings back a sense of nostalgia for the older fans. It also showcases and highlights the importance of these events to the next generation of fans and gives them a reason to check them out on Peacock. If this was anything like last year’s show, we should be getting some special matches and I can’t wait!
