The “Samoan Submission Machine” has reclaimed his spot at the top of the mountain.

Tonight, in the main event of “NXT Takeover: Toronto,” Samoa Joe defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to capture the NXT Championship. This marks the beginning of Joe’s second reign as champion.

The finish came when Joe hit Nakamura with a low blow on the outside of the ring, when the referee wasn’t looking. This led to Joe hitting the Muscle Buster on the “King of Strong Style,” and picking up the victory.

Many have speculated that this was going to be Joe’s last match in NXT, as the rumors that he is heading to the main roster have been going on for quite a while. However, due to tonight’s title win, it would appear that he is sticking around for a longer period of time.

Editor’s Note:

Much like the live crowd in Toronto, I was in complete shock when this happened. Also, much like many members of the WWE Universe, I thought that Joe was going to lose this match tonight, and be on his way to the main roster as early as tomorrow night at “Survivor Series.” However, it would appear that this is not the case, and I anticipate this feud continuing until the next “Takeover” event.
