It had been previously reported that Emma had been released by WWE earlier today.

NXT superstar Lio Rush took to Twitter to express his thoughts, as well as a take a shot at the former WWE employee:

Naturally, this did not go over well with several wrestling personalities, who took to Twitter to express their thoughts:

After the backlash from his comment, Rush quickly posted the following tweet, clarifying his comments and issuing an apology:

Lio Rush has been a member of the WWE roster since August 21 of this year. He is currently a member of NXT. You can see a clip of him competing against The Velveteen Dream below:

Editor’s Note:

This is a tricky situation. While I understand that he was probably playing up his character and using some heel tactics, going after someone who just lost their job is not cool. While we don’t know the circumstances behind Emma’s release yet, it’s still not very cool to attack this part of someone’s life. Also, what’s up with that grammar in the formal apology?
