Former WWE superstar and current ESPN personality Jonathan Coachman was recently a guest on the “Busted Open” radio show on Sirius XM. He spoke at length about Ronda Rousey and the potential for her to be in WWE.

Rousey was recently defeated in under 1 minute by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. “The Coach” began by saying that comparing Rousey to other superstars like Brock Lesnar is not a fair comparison. It’s two completely different situations. He then said:

“The WWE wouldn’t have taken her before the fight and if people want to tweet out pictures of her and The Rock, guess when that was: WrestleMania 2015, before she ever lost, before any of the dramatics, before any of that.”

Coachman acknowledged that following her fight at UFC,  Rousey said that some awful thoughts went through her head. Although he was quick to comment that she has excelled expectations for over 15 years, he referred to her as “broken.”

“As far as WWE is concerned, they don’t bring in, and I refer to her as a broken star, because that’s what she is. She’s broken from a professional sense. They don’t rebuild broken celebrities outside of the WWE.”

“Brock started in the WWE, and Ken Shamrock was a fighter who lost, who won, who lost, who won; any of these comparisons are not only not fair to them, but they’re not fair to Ronda Rousey.”

“They’re never going to bring her in because the fans wouldn’t treat her fairly, and what would she really do at this point?”

“The Coach” also talks about the makeup of a guest attraction to WWE, as well as his take on what the fans’ perception Rousey would be.

It had been previously reported that WWE may be done considering bringing her in to the company at this point.
