One of the biggest fixtures of professional wrestling in the late 1990s was WCW. This company, which was owned by Turner Broadcasting, helped to create the Monday Night Wars, which lead to one of the most important and pivotal time periods in the history of the sport.

However, one of their primary voices is making his return to the commentary booth.

According to a report from PWInsiderTony Schiavone, the lead anchor for WCW, has signed a deal to join All Elite Wrestling. Although WWE was pursuing him as well, it’s being reported that he signed a deal with AEW on Thursday.

Check out a clip of Schiavone interviewing a WWE legend:

Schiavone, who is also signed to an MLW contract, will continue on with Major League Wrestling. Although he did work for WWE briefly in the late 1980s, the AEW deal would bring him back to TNT.

Editor’s Opinion:

This is awesome in every way. He was a staple of one of the greatest times in the history of professional wrestling, and as a result, has cemented his legacy as a respectable and well-known commentator. Seeing him and Jim Ross working together in AEW will be fantastic, and I can’t wait to see it!
