Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella Rematch for WWE Divas Championship Confirmed for “Night of Champions”

Charlotte is going to have another opportunity to win the Divas Championship after coming up short in her first attempt.

On tonight’s edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Charlotte defeated Nikki Bella in their match for the Divas Championship when Charlotte pinned Brie Bella after a botched Twin Magic. However, after the match, Stephanie McMahon came out and said that since Brie put her hands on Charlotte in front of the referee, the match should have ended in a disqualification.

She ended up disqualifying Nikki Bella, which allowed her to retain her championship.

However, McMahon would then announce that Charlotte will get her rematch this Sunday at “Night of Champions” for the Divas Championship, and if Nikki Bella loses in any way, including by countdown or disqualification, she will lose her title.

Today marks the 295th day that Nikki Bella has held the Divas Championship, tying the record held by AJ Lee for the longest reign in WWE history.

She won the title back on Nov. 23, 2014 at “Survivor Series.”

Charlotte has been an integral part of the Divas Revolution that has taken place since herself, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks joined the main roster on July 13 of this year. While she is a former NXT champion, tonight was her first opportunity at the Divas Championship.

While I don’t agree with it, I get why they are allowing Nikki Bella to become the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time. It will generate MAJOR heat for her, and will make Charlotte’s victory this Sunday that much sweeter. I do believe that Charlotte is the best diva on the main roster right now, and is completely deserving of being the champion.
