It would appear that someone posing as “The Brain” outsmarted us all.

Recently, it had seemed that legendary WWE performer, manager, and commentator Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and his wife, Cyndi, had joined Twitter and began to interact with today’s fans.

However, one of Heenan’s closest friends, “Mean” Gene Okerlund posted the following tweet a few days ago, saying that the accounts were in fact fake:

Both accounts have since been deleted.

Heenan had an illustrious professional wrestling career that spanned over four decades. Joining WWE as a manager in 1984, he would go on to form the “Heenan Family,” and would manage some of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Such greats as Paul Orndorff, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Harley Race, and Andre The Giant all spent time under Heenan’s tutelage.

“The Brain” would eventually join WCW in 1994, where he remained as a color commentator and analyst until he was released in November of 2000.

Editor’s Note:

This was absolutely awful. If someone was going to create a parody account of a legend like Heenan, that would be one thing, but to use ‘real’ as part of the handle to make everyone thing it was really “The Brain” is just low. Kudos for the people who took the proper steps to have those accounts deleted.
