It was previously reported that Samoa Joe had suffered a recent injury on “Raw,” and was unable to compete in the “Mixed Match Challenge” as a result.

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the injury looks more serious than originally thought. As of now, Joe will not be competing at the “Royal Rumble,” and he has been pulled from lineups through at least the middle of March.

It is unknown at this time if he will be back in time for WrestleMania.

Samoa Joe was last seen on the January 8 episode of “Raw,” when he competed against Rhyno. You can see a clip of that match below:

WWE had released a statement regarding Joe’s injury:

“During his match, [Samoa Joe] felt a pop at the bottom of his [right] foot,” explained WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann. “We took a look and believe he has a plantar fascia rupture, which is a thick tissue rupture under the foot. We will get an MRI to confirm. Treatment includes a period of immobilization in a boot with crutches and platelet rich plasma injections.”

Editor’s Opinion:

Let’s just hope that he is back in time for WrestleMania!
