On the Nov. 6 edition of NXT on the WWE Network, Finn Balor made his official on-screen debut for the brand.

Formally known as Prince Devitt overseas in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Balor was revealed to be the “friend” Hideo Itami (KENTA) was referring to in his battle against The Ascension.

The two laid out Konnor and Viktor with vicious kicks and double foot stomps before posing in front of the NXT faithful in attendance.

The name “Finn Balor” stems from Gaelic history, which Balor cleared up on his Twitter account to those who weren’t impressed with the change.

SPOILER: Balor and Itami will be taking on The Ascension at “NXT Takeover: Our Evolution” on Dec. 11 at Full Sail University.

Editor’s Note

Impressive stuff. Balor and Itami seem to have similar movesets, so perhaps they’ll be a tag team for the foreseeable future. Either way, the sky is the limit for both superstars as they look to leave their mark in World Wrestling Entertainment.
