According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, former TNA World Heavyweight Champion “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles has agreed to a one-year deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

An official announcement has yet to be made due to both sides wanting to keep the news a secret.

Styles has been working with Ring of Honor since leaving IMPACT Wrestling back in December of last year, losing to Magnus in his final bout.  He’s also competed for several other independent promotions in the United States, including Combat Zone Wrestling.

This deal has reportedly been the works for several months.

He’s set to debut for the company in April. There is no word yet on whether this will force a conflict with any of his upcoming appearances.
