During WWE “Beast in the East” at the Rygoku Kokugikan in Sumida, Tokyo on Saturday morning, WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella defeated Paige and Tamina Snuka in a Triple Threat match to retain her championship, extending her reign with the title to the 223 day mark.

Conspicuous by her absence was Naomi, who would seem like the logical choice to be in such a match, even in a one-day overseas special like “Beast in the East.”

Unfortunately, Naomi couldn’t attend the show, or WWE’s Far East Tour for that matter, due to a recent loss in her family, although who that family member was remains to be seen.

She revealed this news when asked about her absence by a fan on social media:

After consecutive pay-per-view appearances challenging Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship, Naomi seems to have come back down to earth with Paige taking over her role as top contender.

Editor’s Note

We here at WrestlingRumors.net would like to send Naomi our condolences and wish her and her family all the best at this time. She likely won’t miss any television tapings during the course of the week, I would think.
