This year’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view will take place on June 29, live from the TD Garden in Boston, MA.

The last PPV event to emanate from the TD Garden was Survivor Series 2013, which was headlined by Randy Orton defending the WWE Championship against The Big Show.

The Money in the Bank Ladder match debuted at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. It has been a yearly tradition for a superstar to climb the rungs and pull down a briefcase. Inside the briefcase is a contract which guarantees that individual a World Championship match whenever they see fit.

Some past winners include Edge, John Cena, Rob Van Dam, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan and Kane.

With both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship merged into one, it’s reasonable to think that there will be only one MITB match on the show.

That would be the first time in the events history where that would be the case.
