According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, WWE superstar Justin Gabriel has quit the company.

The report notes that Gabriel asked to be let go over the weekend, although that has yet to be officially confirmed at this time.

He was set to be one of the 30 men competing in the “Royal Rumble” match on Jan. 25. He, along with both members of Los Matadores, were recently yanked from the match.

His biggest success came as a member of both the Nexus and Corre, winning WWE Tag Team Championship gold on three occasions with Heath Slater.

The 33-year-old South African saw most of his action on episodes of WWE “Superstars” and “Main Event.” He also had a short run in NXT during the summer of 2014.

Editor’s Note

Not much of a loss for WWE. I do see Gabriel carving out a niche for himself on the independent circuit, or even overseas. He’s a talented guy. Very flashy in the ring. He’ll find work if that’s what he desires.
