ROH’s ninth “Survival of the Fittest” tournament took place on Nov. 7 at the Seagate Convention Center in Toledo, Ohio and spanned two days.

There were six qualification matches, with the winners advancing to an elimination match where the last remaining competitor would be granted a shot at the ROH World Championship.

The six competitors were: Adam Cole, Adam Page, Tommaso Ciampa, Roderick Strong, Hanson and Matt Sydal.

Cole went on to win the elimination match to become the new No. 1 contender by last eliminating Hanson.

He will now face current ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe for the gold on Dec. 7 at ROH’s “Final Battle” pay-per-view.

Editor’s Note

It’s believed that Cole’s contract with Ring of Honor will be ending at the end 0f 2014. If that’s true, WWE would be wise to snag him up while he’s a free agent. Heck of a talent.
