When WWE shocked the wrestling world by having Sting appear at the 2014 “Survivor Series,” pay-per-view, one man was lost in the shuffle a bit. Randy Orton, who was reportedly set to return to WWE programming at the event, would be held off of the event. The St. Louis native did not appear in front of his hometown faithful on Nov. 23, but was backstage for the event. Interestingly enough, Orton would also be held off of the next night’s showing of  “Monday Night Raw.”

As of Tuesday, Nov. 25, Randy Orton is not advertised for any WWE events until Dec. 26. On that day, Orton will begin a slew of appearances on WWE’s annual Holiday Tour. WWE has two teams working live events on the tour: one team headed by John Cena and a second team headed by Roman Reigns. Orton is part of Cena’s team, which will kick off the tour at Madison Square Garden on the 26th.

Orton is not advertised for an edition of WWE programming until the Jan. 5 showing of “Monday Night Raw,” according to advertisements on WWE.com.  “The Viper” was written off of WWE programming on Nov. 3 as part of his ongoing storyline with The Authority and Seth Rollins. Previous reports indicated that Orton would square off with Seth Rollins at “TLC,” but those plans may very well be on hold. Instead, Rollins has been battling with Dolph Ziggler, during both “Survivor Series” and the succeeding “Monday Night Raw.”

Editor’s Note

It may be better for both WWE and Orton, if he does not appear at “TLC.” Let Dolph Ziggler receive a main event program with Rollins, before Orton gets a crack at him. Rollins and Orton feuding at the “Royal Rumble” will put much more emphasis on the feud.
