The 2014 “Night of Champions” pay-per-view on Sept. 21 from Nashville, Tennessee at the Bridgestone Arena, kicked off with the WWE Tag Team Championship match. WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos took on Stardust and Goldust in the first match of the entire night, as the pre-show had no matches.

Stardust and Goldust defeated The Usos with a roll-up pin from Stardust. It is the second reign that the two have had as WWE Tag Team Champions. However, their first reign came when Cody Rhodes was still known as himself, not the “Stardust” persona.

The Usos had the WWE Tag Team Championship since the March 3 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” in which they defeated The New Age Outlaws. Many challengers emerged through the months, but Stardust and Goldust were the first team to dethrone The Usos from the top of the mountain.
