In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is revealed that Harry Smith, known as “David Hart Smith” in WWE as well as “Davey Boy Smith, Jr.” in New Japan Pro Wrestling, recently stopped a thief in Amsterdam.  Smith currently works for NJPW, where he has become a two-time tag team champion during his second stint with the company.

In the newsletter’s report, it is revealed that Smith witnessed a man steal a woman’s purse. Smith looked on as three security guards were having trouble apprehending the thief. Smith then sprung into action, as he jumped the suspect, took him down, then began to choke him.

Soon after Smith applied the choke, the man fittingly tapped out to Smith. However, he did not release his hold very quickly, eventually allowing the security guards to take the suspect away. Afterwards, it is said that the man went from “ultra-aggressive” to a calm state of mind rather quickly.

Smith, just 28, worked with WWE from 2006-2009. During his tenure on the main WWE roster, he was able to capture both the WWE and World Tag Team Championship with Tyson Kidd.

Editor’s Note

Man, this was definitely an interesting story to report on. I could only imagine the scene of Smith choking out the thief.
