On Sunday, Dec. 14, the 2014 edition of the “TLC” pay-per-view occurred in Cleveland, Ohio. During the pre-show to the event, WWE announced that Brock Lesnar would be defending his title at the “Royal Rumble.” The title defense will be Lesnar’s first in almost four months, as he last competed at the 2014 “Night of Champions” pay-per-view.

John Cena would be confirmed as Lesnar’s opponent later in the night, after Cena bested Seth Rollins in a Tables match. Cena retained his number-one contender status by winning the match, in large part due to the returning Roman Reigns.

The 2015 “Royal Rumble” will take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Jan. 25. The event will mark the third time Cena and Lesnar have faced off in the wrestling season. First, Lesnar defeated Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at “SummerSlam.” Next month, at “Night of Champions,” Lesnar retained his title against Cena due to interference from Seth Rollins.
