The August 5 edition of Monday Night Raw that featured the announcement of two matches for WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view, SummerSlam scored a stellar rating. First, a Kane vs. Bray Wyatt “Ring of Fire” match was announced, then later in the show a Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow bout was confirmed.

The final cable rating came in at 2.96 with an average of 4,179,000 viewers. Individual hour viewer scores were 3.97 million, 4.38 million, and 4.18 million viewers  in corresponding order. These numbers made the episode the most watched episode of Monday Night Raw this summer as well as the most viewed episode since the May 20 edition of Monday Night Raw.
