In the main event segment from this past week’s Raw, Conor McGregor’s name was mentioned, and according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, his name wasn’t brought up for no reason.

According to Meltzer, WWE is trying to get both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor on Raw to promote their upcoming super-fight in August.

Mayweather has worked with WWE previously, as he faced the Big Show at WrestleMania 24. McGregor, on the other hand, has never done anything with WWE, but he seems more than open to the idea.

WWE tried to get McGregor for this year’s WrestleMania 33, but the UFC megastar was apparently too expensive for the company. So, it’ll be interesting to see if they can come to an agreement prior to his fight with Mayweather.
