Prior to Monday’s Raw, there was a ton of speculation surrounding Samoa Joe, and who his opponent will be at next month’s Fastlane show. Of course, he was originally supposed to take on Seth Rollins, but the former WWE Champion is unable to compete on the show due to a knee injury.

Now, the plan seems to be clear, as Joe attacked Sami Zayn on Monday night, which, according to Cageside Seats, is going to lead to a match between the two former NXT Champions at Fastlane.

Before Rollins was injured, WWE was going to have Sami Zayn challenge Chris Jericho for the United States Championship. But, they needed an opponent for Joe on March 5, and they decided that Sami was the best guy for the job.

As of right now, the scheduled main event for Fastlane is Goldberg vs. Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship, and most aren’t expecting it to last for more than two minutes. So, Joe vs. Sami will likely be the long, show-stealing match of the night.

Would you have picked Sami Zayn to replace Seth Rollins at Fastlane? If not, who would you have gone with? Let us know in the comments below, or over on Facebook!
